Your club needs you!

Every year our club elects the team who will run it for the following year. We are run by our members for our members, so it’s critical to our success that people help shape the future of the club by both leading it and voting.

There are a number of Board members standing down this year including Natalie Ceeney (the Chair), Steve Chevis (welfare and club kit), Lise Taylor-Vebel (magazine and media) and Russell Chidwick (campaigns). We also have a vacancy for someone to be our General Secretary (or organiser in chief). We really need some new club members to stand for the Board. There is an article in the summer’s Milestone magazine attempting to demystify the work of the Board, but in summary you really just need enthusiasm, and some organisational skills.  Most of us work full time, so it’s (by necessity) not a huge amount of work, and the more people who are involved, the easier it is to spread the work.

We also need to elect (or reelect) our President and Vice President. So if you want to restand (John, Kate and John) or if you want to stand, please submit your details too.

Voting for the club’s Board, President and Vice President will open at the start of September. We are now open for nominations for all of these positions. If you are interested or just want to find out more, contact Natalie or any of the Board members and we can arrange a time to chat. To stand, you need to write Natalie an email by 30th August with:

  • Your name

  • The name of two club members who support your nomination

  • Your answer to the following three questions 1) Tell us about yourself 2) Tell us about your interest or passion for cycling 3) What will you bring to the Board?

  • A photo (head and shoulders)

  • Which role you are standing for (just President/ Vice President/ Chair or Board member)

This is also the opportunity for us to put key issues to a vote of the members. If you have any issue you’d like to put to a vote, we need to receive the details by 26th August. If you’d like to discuss it with us before submitting, again, please just email Natalie and we can chat.

We holding the Annual General Meeting on Sat 25th September at Coxheath Village Hall in the afternoon. All members are welcome, and that’s where we will announce the results.  Voting will take place from the start of September to Friday 24th, and you can vote online or by post. We will send out details nearer the time.

Your club needs you!

Natalie (SFACC Chair - until the end of September)
