SFACC Main Centenary BBQ

Our 100th birthday party!

How time flies! There is now only about a month till our main Centenary party at Boughton Monchelsea Village Hall, coming up on 25th June. Natalie and Ian are planning some lovely food for everyone and Steve and I are planning for some entertainment.

It will all be free to members and we are very much looking forward to see you there. We will be open from 12 noon, and serving food from 12-3, and then with entertainment and games until 5pm.

Parking

Unfortunately we cannot park at the hall early on 25th, as someone else has hired the hall before us. However, we have paid for parking spaces at the Cornwallis Academy, Hubbard's Lane, Loose, Maidstone ME17 4HX for members arriving by car for their ride in the morning. This is just a short bike ride down the Heath Road towards Linton. We can park at the Boughton Monchelsea hall from around 10:30 am.

For those bringing food, we will have one car at the hall from 8.30am.

Cycling first?

We hope that club members will drop in after their rides from around 12pm, when food will be ready. Be aware that there will be a lot of fellow members in line for food, so you don’t all need to arrive at the same time. There will be plenty of food and cakes for everyone.

Do you play music?

After the food we are planning entertainment/ I would like to call on everyone who either sing or play an instrument and let us make a San Fairy Ann Jam band. It has got to be fun rather than in any way professional, so please don’t hold back. We have got a rehearsal room for 4 Tuesday evenings before the party, so we should be able to get something planned. If we can find songs that others can sing along to … even better. So bring your best song books along and let’s have some fun.

So please give me a bell or email if you would like some fun Fairy jamming so I can let you in on our rehearsals evenings. There is a nice large stage at the Boughton Monchelsea Village Hall, so a good space for us all on the day.

Other entertainment

If you have any other good ideas as to some fun games we can do without having to need a lot of space (it is probably going to be a bit tight), please let us know as soon as possible.

We can’t do this without you ...

Natalie is still looking for people to help with the baking, and we will also need people to help set up the call, and to clear up from 5-6pm. We would very much welcome anyone who are able to help setting up the hall before our members arrives after their rides as well ad helping with packing up and cleaning after. Please do let us know if you’re able to help.

Looking forward to see you there,

Lise
