VTTA Time Trial Season opener

On Saturday, 23 March 2024, Abellio SFAs Reuban Davey and Dave Richards rode the VTTA's traditional season opener on the Isle of Grain.

Due to road works, the 10-mile course was shortened to 8 miles. Conditions were far from ideal, with a 19mph block headwind on the outbound and then a lovely tailwind on the return, making pacing hard. Despite this, Dave Richards managed a time of 22:06, making him the fastest Road bike rider on age-adjusted time.

Reuban Davey Road the course in 19:16, just one second from being the fastest non-vet and 7th on scratch. Also, riding were San Fairy Ann’s Tom Richardson (23:14) and Mark Vowells (23:36)
