SFA Sportive 2024
On Saturday, D Group members put out the Sportive signs. Thanks you for your help.
At the start at Marden Memorial Hall
134 riders enjoyed the Kent sunshine on our 2024 Sportive on 19 May – 59 of them Club members. The hilly Epic 160km event was the most popular followed by the Classic 115km and the Scenic 85km. In ideal conditions nearly all of the entrants started and all but three of the starters finished. There were lots of kind words for the 19 who turned out to help on the day. And a special mention to D and D+ groups who put out the signs as well as our sponsors: Sedlescombe Parish Council, Rhokett, Cranbrook Farm Shop, and Hartley Coffee House and Farm Shop.
Bolstered by donations on the day – including one in memoriam of Maurice Wilkins – we raised well over £3,000 for the Air Ambulance bringing the total raised by this event since its first running in 2006 to £61,000. That is something the club can be really proud of.
