A group of 14 arrived at Yalding station, including three out with the group for the first time,Bridget,Phillip and Elliott,on what started out as a very dull drizzly morning.Another group of 4 also went off on their weekly Yalding start to Brenchley. Ralph suggested Chiddingstone for the break as his group had gone to the Post office cafe a couple of weeks before and really enjoyed it.So with Richard leading and the rain having stopped,it was the normal route out via East Peckham,Hadlow and Hildenborough, past Phillips’s house! On arriving at Chiddingstone in beautifully warm weather,it was discovered that the Castle cafe was open until the end of October,so the group split in two, which probably worked out better for faster service. The return leg was also the traditional one,via Leigh,Powdermills and outskirts of Tonbridge, before Golden Green and East Peckham again.A distance of 36 miles at about 14 mph average, fortunately with any incidents what so ever.
