A fast, flat, sunny ride

Seven of us set off from Staplehurst, some slightly over dressed because of early wind and forecast rain. We rode out towards Marden, through lovely lanes to Headcorn, Ulcombe, Grafty Green, Egerton Forstal and on to our stop at Headcorn Aerodrome having completed 25 very swift miles. Great news here when Mick O'Flaherty received a call to say that he and Angela had become grandparents, congratulations to them! Onwards to Frittenden where a discussion about the origin of name of The Bell and Jorrocks Pub concluded that original owners were Barry Bell and Johnny Jorrocks. On to Sissinghurst, out towards Goudhurst and a big sweep down to Staplehurst.

38 miles  Average speed 14.4 mph
