Well,at least it started dry at Mote Park, and Darren led with Tony M,Chris M,Jonathan and Richard V in tow. Leaving the park then up Detling Hill footpath and onto the very mucky country lanes to Hartlip, before crossing the A2 and passing through Upchurch and Lower Halstow before reaching the Mews Cafe at Iwade.A nice relaxing new stop.On leaving ,the rain was starting in earnest, and it was into a headwind along the Old A249 to Bobbing where a white coloured gunge was seen coming from Darren’s rear tyre. With everyone fearing a lengthy hold up for a puncture,Darren just rotated the wheel and the tubeless tyre quickly sealed itself with no real loss of pressure.Brilliant! Quickly carrying on ,it was up to Oad Street, before the descent of Hollingbourne Hill. A very puddly Pilgrims Way and Water Lane(aptly named) awaited, before the final stage through Bearsted and Otham to the park.A distance of 34.5 miles with 2200 ft ascents at about 12 mph average.Great ride Darren,Thankyou
