As you will have read in the latest edition of the Milestone, the quest for new club clothing is almost complete.

The club clothing task force and others in the club are now making final preparations for the clothing items to go on sale to members.

When the clothing goes on sale existing members will be able to claim a ONE OFF £20 SUBSIDY which has generously been sanctioned by the board. This subsidy can be claimed against either of the two short sleeve jerseys, and the long sleeve jersey which will be available, or the Tee shirt or Polo shirt if that is what members might prefer.

Whilst a number of clothing manufacturers were initially looked at, there were two that the task force felt warranted more critical investigation, these being Bioracer and Tineli.

The overall package offered by Tineli was deemed best suited to the needs of the club and we are now working closely with them on the production and supply of the new kit.

Tineli offer a wide range of clothing however, it has been decided in the first instance to go forward with an initial range of nine items being made available to members. Depending on the take up of the new clothing it may be an option to expand the range in the future.

The nine items of clothing and prices are as follows:

  • Club cut jersey (Standard, classic fit). £38.45
  • Vent waffle jersey (A tighter more aero cut with more technical fabric, but not a full on race aero fit). £43.62
  • Long sleeve club cut jersey. £50.98
  • Regular shorts. £38.28
  • Regular bibshorts. £39.48
  • Pro tour bibshorts  (Added features and more technical fabric to compliment the Vent waffle jersey). £53.76
  • Short sleeve skinsuit (with an option of long sleeves). £65.22
  • Tee shirt £24.26
  • Polo shirt (with zip) £26.67

Please note that these prices include tracked postage to your home address.

Sizes will range from XS to 5XL.

Women’s clothing cut is also available

At the time of writing, an online shop accessible on the club’s website is being developed by Glenn Roberts. You will be able to order and pay for your clothing there. Full technical specifications, sizing charts and cost options for the clothing such as flatlock stitching, reflective strips, 4th zipped security pocket and bespoke lengthening or shortening of sleeve length, shorts leg length and jersey body length will also be on the online shop.

As you can see these are competitive prices but with these prices come certain conditions that must be fulfilled in order for them to be maintained.

1.      The club must order at least 100 units of clothing.

2.      There is a minimum order of 10 units for any one item of clothing except for the skinsuit where the minimum order is 5.

On the face of it these conditions might seem onerous but rest assured that all the quality manufacturers operate in this way and Tineli had the best balance of minimum order levels, ordering process, pricing and excellent quality.

As an example of how the minimum order number can affect the cost of items, the cost of the basic jersey would rise to £44.97 (including postage) if we were to order just 50 units.

We hope you can see therefore the benefits for club members to purchase en bloc at this initial stage of ordering so as to ensure the lowest possible price that is available from Tineli.

Remember too that for a limited period the club will be subsidising the cost of one jersey, Tee shirt or Polo shirt per member to the amount of £20.00. So, if large numbers of members purchase on this initial order it will be possible to purchase a club cut jersey for £18.45, the Vent Waffle jersey for £23.62, the polo shirt for £6.67 or the Tee shirt for £4.26.

Members are therefore urged to purchase their clothing during the club’s first order so as to secure this one off subsidy.

The club clothing task force are running two “try on” events. The first is 1900 to 2130hrs on Tuesday 8th November at the Penenden Heath club house. The second is 0800 to 1000hrs on Saturday 19th November at the Vestry Hall, Marden.

During these try on events the items carried on the club’s online shop will be available to try on for size. There will be sizes XS– XXL in the club cut jersey and standard bibshorts in the new SFA design while all other items will be in generic Tineli designs. A representative from Tineli will also be available to answer any questions you may have.

Please do try to come along to these events so you can identify the correct size of garment for you and can go and order straight away with confidence.

If we can get our first order in by 22nd November we will receive the clothing by mid January.

It is likely to be at least six months before the club puts in another clothing order.

Remember, get in quick with your first order, claim your subsidy and get a club jersey at a never to be repeated price.
